Predicting how good the Memphis Tigers football team will be this season is a bit of a mystery.
The Phil Steele College Football Preview magazine, one of the most comprehensive preseason reads in the sport, has the Tigers as the favorite to win the American Conference.
The gaming odds tell a different story.
As of Tuesday, Aug. 12, DraftKings gives Memphis the fourth-best odds to win the league, and the odds drop to the fifth-best when switching to the FanDuel app. The two betting sites have Tulane as the top team (+300 odds on DraftKings and +390 on FanDuel). DraftKings has Navy second and UTSA third, while FanDuel has UTSA ahead of Navy. Memphis has +550 odds on both sites.
This game follows some of the conventions of Wordle. You get six tries to guess each individual word. If a letter on the keypad turns yellow, the letter is in that specific word, but it’s in the wrong spot. If it turns green, the letter is in the right spot. If it turns gray, it’s not part of the word.
But unlike Wordle there can be any number of words or letters.
Good luck!
