Triple S Skate Co. owner Jimmy Jarvis wants to make people aware of skateboarding benefits while hoping to serve as a catalyst for the sport’s popularity.

Jarvis, 31, has skateboarded since he was nine. He used that as an impetus to open his shop at 2965 N. Germantown Road in Bartlett last August. 

“I fell in love with it really young,” he said, citing the Skate Park of Memphis, which closed in 2009. “It played a big role in my childhood. I made a lot of friends there and always felt welcome.”
