The 2025 college football season couldn’t get past Week 1 without creating ripples in the College Football Playoff race for non-power conference schools.

Boise State claimed the playoff spot last year after entering the 2024 season as one of the favorites to earn the bid. The Broncos, ranked preseason No. 25 this year, began 2025 as the favorite to claim the non-power conference slot for a second straight season.
