Unlike many of the other patients in Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit, Aiden Claiborne was born right on time at 39 weeks and two days.

The problem, though, was Aiden suffered a complication in the womb that affected his brain and breathing. He spent 73 days in the NICU with his parents, Joseph and Abria, by his side and every day them hoping for a miracle. 

They got one. Aiden turned 5 years old this June, and he still faces many challenges ahead. But he is here. He is alive.
