For the first time since announcing in May that he’d transfer to Kansas State, former Memphis Tigers star PJ Haggerty opened up about the decision.

The 6-foot-3 combo guard joined college basketball insider Andy Katz on an episode of his “The Sideline with Andy Katz” podcast that was released Tuesday on YouTube.

Haggerty averaged 21.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game last season for Memphis. He was named the 2024-25 American Conference Player of the Year and a consensus second-team All-American while leading the Tigers to a 29-6 record, conference regular-season and tournament titles and a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
