‘A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical’ at the Orpheum Theatre:
The Orpheum Theatre kicks off its 2025-26 season with the Memphis premiere of “A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical.” Using Diamond’s hit songs, it tells the story of his rise from a Brooklyn songwriter to an internationally celebrated performer. It closes Sunday, Oct. 12.
The show is structured around therapy sessions with the older Diamond reflecting on his career, personal struggles and the meaning behind his lyrics.
The Orpheum was one of the producers of the Broadway production. Diamond wrote and recorded one of his biggest hits “Sweet Caroline” in Memphis at American Sound Studio featuring The Memphis Horns and The Memphis Boys. The show was created in collaboration with Diamond himself.
