If ever there was an example of the incredible benefits of addressing blight, Quincey Morris has it.

The executive director of the Klondike Smokey City CDC, Morris joined me on this week’s episode of “The Sidebar” to talk about the organization’s efforts to mow and maintain yards, build a pocket park and turn 150 vacant lots and empty homes into assets in the community.

We also talked about the transformative impact of the Northside redevelopment and the impact of school closures — and reopenings — in Klondike and Smokey City.
