Pumping the brakes: Olive Branch residents try to stop growth, but board hits the gas

Olive Branch residents urged city leaders to halt development on two separate fronts Tuesday night, citing traffic nightmares and the loss of rural character.
But in back-to-back decisions, the Board of Aldermen voted to move forward with both a new subdivision and a gas station.
The meeting highlighted the growing tension between preserving the city’s small-town feel and the economic reality of a booming suburb.
