Daily Jigsaw: Mr. Football leads winning team
Red and blue are the traditional uniform colors for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl High School All-Star game at Memphis University School. But purple reigned supreme Saturday.
Led by a Most Valuable Player effort from Class 6A Mr. Football winner Kelvin Perkins — who else? — players from Southwind stood out at Stokes-Alston Stadium as the Blue team downed the Red, 31-13, in the annual end of the local high school football season.
It’s the Blue team’s first victory in the game since 2021.
