With Baron Von Oppenbean and the River of Time toward opening this spring on Mud Island, I wanted to ask the group’s new CEO a simple question.

“What is Baron Von Oppenbean and the River of Time?”

It’s a question I get from people. “What is this thing going into Mud Island?”

My answer is always a mix of comparisons. But Jee Vahn Knight had the best answer I’ve heard. It’s not a simple one, but it’s worth listening to her describe, with comparisons to immersive theater, theme parks, virtual reality and more.

And of course, the BVO experience is most easily compared to Meow Wolf, which is perfect if you’ve been there but not as helpful if you haven’t.

Vahn Knight joined me for this week’s episode of “The Sidebar,” to talk about the attraction’s opening March 7, the next phases of expansion and how their business model works.
