Will Shelby County pay back rent for the clerk’s Millington office?
“I’ve never been offered or signed a lease with Millington,” Shelby County Clerk Wanda Halbert told county commissioners last week. “We don’t have a problem doing whatever is required of us. But when decisions are made and we are not at the table, I’m not comfortable being held accountable for decisions made outside of our team.” (Patrick Lantrip/The Daily Memphian file)
Shelby County commissioners will vote on a resolution that would settle an ongoing dispute with the City of Millington for the $28,800 owed in rent for the County Clerk’s office on Navy Road.
