DeSoto County urges ‘emergency travel only’ as ice and staff shortages snarl roads

Mississippi officials sent National Guard troops, tow trucks and 135 snowplows to the area Wednesday to clear snow and ice from Interstates 22 and 55 where massive traffic jams began piling up a day earlier.
