Bill Townsend said Tuesday, Jan. 27, that he would restore the parts of his historic Annesdale Mansion that were destroyed by fire earlier in the day.

Townsend, who was in California when the fire broke out a little after 1:30 p.m., said the fire started in the sunroom and consumed both that space and his nearby office.

Firefighters doused the blaze with no injuries, but there is extensive smoke and water damage to the house, Townsend said.
