Some nonprofits ‘feel like they’re on an island by themselves’
Sam Coates knows the challenges facing Memphis nonprofits, especially smaller ones without endowments and reserve funds.
βI definitely feel like there are a lot of nonprofits that feel like theyβre on an island by themselves,β said Coates, co-founder of CFO Leverage, a firm providing accounting advice and services to Memphis nonprofits.
Coates said that during βCoffee Break with CFO Leverage: Financial Clarity for Nonprofit Leaders,β a virtual roundtable call hosted by New Memphis, a local nonprofit whose roots were planted in 1979.
