The AM/DM podcast: Restaurant scene roundup

By , Daily Memphian Published: February 10, 2026 6:32 AM CT

The AM/DM is The Daily Memphian’s weekday podcast. Listen in every morning around 6:30 a.m. to get the news you need for the day, as well as a critical — but quick — interview on a larger story.

The restaurant industry can seem turbulent, especially in the past five years or so.

New concepts seem to always be opening while others, even old favorites, close after decades in business.

The Daily Memphian’s Sophia Surrett chronicles these openings and closings in her weekly Food Files column. Today, she joins us to talk about a few restaurant openings, closings and other announcements on the horizon.

Give it a listen.
