David Weatherspoon opened his November challenge of Republican state Senator Brent Taylor Thursday, April 9, in Germantown before a group of 50 supporters.

Memphis Light, Gas and Water CEO Doug McGowen reacted to the news that xAI paused and then re-committed to its planned water recycling facility by saying he was disappointed and that he learned about it from the media.

Sheriff’s candidates largely agreed the jail is in need of a complete overhaul and offered ideas to fix it, including overhauling management, increasing staffing and reforming medical care for inmates.

And U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Memphis, reflected on his time in the Tennessee Senate while addressing that same body Thursday, April 9, at the state capitol.
