The AM/DM podcast: A week to celebrate Girls Inc., LeMoyne-Owen and realtors
The Girls Inc. of Memphis Youth Farm has grown from its original pre-pandemic incarnation of a shipping container, a porta-pottie and a water spigot. The $8 million, 20,000 square foot classroom buidling joined the Frayser campus in 2023. A greenhouse was formally opened Friday, March 21. (Bill Dries/ Daily Memphian)
This week begins with a public question: How should AI-related property-tax revenue be spent? The Memphis City Council is asking citizens to weigh in Monday, April 13.
There’s also a Shelby County Commission meeting, a luncheon to celebrate Girls Inc. of Memphis turning 80, a fundraising gala for LeMoyne-Owen College and an award ceremony for realtors. Plus, the start of early voting and our first opportunity to see the new Memphis Tigers football team at work.
Newsletter editor Bianca Phillips joins us today to talk about another very busy week.
