Among the of items available at the Memphis Mineral, Fossil and Gem Show Saturday were gemstones of all sorts, crystals in an array of colors, stunning amethyst geodes, megalodon teeth and dinosaur bones.
Oh, and you could also buy fossilized dinosaur poop, more technically known as coprolite. Fossilized excrement and people wanted to buy it! What a world.
Jim Haege, in fact, sold out of his dino poop early Saturday, although he was still doing a brisk trade in fish fossils and more. He’d lugged about 4,000 items up from Atlanta for the show, which continues through Sunday, April 19, at the Agricenter International.
