Lego madness comes to Southaven: ‘You can build anything’

While the Lego company’s origins lie in toys for children, adult Lego enthusiasts have become a huge market. Adult Fans of Legos (or AFOLs, as they’re called) make up an estimated 15-25% of the market for Lego products.

One of those AFOLs is Tim Hutchings, a master builder from Oklahoma who has become a familiar face and name through his appearances on the “Lego Masters” television show.

Decked out in his trademark coveralls, Hutchings travels around the country to these Brick Conventions, and at each show, he unpacks and reassembles his massive Wild West Lego creation. For each show, it takes him at least five hours to pull all the pieces from their special totes and reassemble them.
