As the NBA barrels toward its season finale, 26 of the league’s 30 teams are already making plans for the fall.
The planning process is not complete without a trip to Chicago, where all 30 franchises descend to get a glimpse at some of the best draft-eligible players from around the world at the NBA Draft Combine.
The combine is, in corporate terms, essentially a talent summit — a useful tool for some teams, yet only a singular stop on the schedule amid a years-long scouting process. What matters most is the big picture — the college film, the combine testing, the interviews and, perhaps most importantly, the individual team workouts.
