Laurie Bommarito went to the Memphis Italian Festival for the first time Saturday, and was surrounded by the seductive aromas from so much meat, pasta and sauce (or gravy as the Italians call it).

But despite that, and despite that very Italian last name, she ate a Pronto Pup.

It seems like that’s the kind of thing that might get you banned from the Italian Festival, but Bommarito swore that it was only a regular-sized corn dog, and that she was leaving room for the meatballs her husband was fetching.
