More than 15,000 people watched a fireworks and drone show held at Tom Lee Park for the first time since COVID-19, and more than 100,000 people visited Downtown that day, according to a Downtown Memphis Commission report released Tuesday, July 28.
“It’s incredible to see so many people choosing to spend the Fourth of July together in Downtown Memphis,” Memphis Mayor Paul Young said in a statement. “Those shared moments support local businesses, build pride in our city, strengthen our economy and remind us what’s possible when we invest in bringing people together.”
