President Donald Trump ordered flags at half-staff in honor of national icon Dolly Parton. However, Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams is leaving the banners flying high.
Parton, the entertainer, singer, movie star and philanthropist, died last week after a battle with cancer. When she died, the president ordered flags “throughout the United States” lowered until Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Adams resisted the idea, drawing a line in the sand and drawing the ire of Parton patrons.
