Memphis Movies This Week: A Dolly Parton tribute, an early Oscar doc contender

In the wake of her recent death, Malco Theatres will host a “Tribute to Dolly” double-feature Saturday night at its Ridgeway, Collierville and Desoto theaters featuring “Steel Magnolias” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.”

Chris Herrington has covered the Memphis Grizzlies, in one way or another, since the franchise’s second season in Memphis, while also writing about music, movies, food and civic life. He now splits his time between Minneapolis-St. Paul, where his wife works, and Memphis.
