FBI command shift to Nashville led to more agents on Memphis streets

State Federal Bureau of Investigation leadership says the agency’s administrative consolidation has actually increased the number of federal agents deployed to the streets of Memphis.

Special Agent in Charge Terence Reilly, who oversees FBI operations across Tennessee from its Nashville field office, said the transition of Memphis from an independent field office to a branch under the Nashville command was an organizational shift in title only.
