Metal Museum museum officials struck a hammer on an anvil three times Saturday to announce the opening of its new home at the former Memphis College of Art in Overton Park.
Hundreds of people poured in to see how the museum was settling in after moving from its longtime location on the bluffs of the Mississippi River.
There remain a few things to do in the 75,000-square-foot space before the museum opens full-time on Friday, Sept. 11. From then on, the museum will be open Wednesday-Sunday.
