Wanda Halbert leaves behind car title backlog, new clerk says
“We are currently limited in our personnel dollars and overtime. So what we’ll do is on Wednesday, (Sept. 16), we’re contemplating putting that same team that would normally process your titles in person on it,” LaSonya Hall told The Daily Memphian. “We’re going to have them now work on that backlog to get that done. So we’ll just use one day and hopefully make a real good stab at getting that backlog completed.” (Daily Memphian file)
After a week in office, Shelby County Clerk LaSonya Hall says she has found dozens of crates of car titles and registrations awaiting processing — some dating back to June.
