Daily Jigsaw: Tiger family pride

LAS VEGAS — Not many teenagers get to spend their 16th birthday in a city such as Las Vegas.

Well, Memphis quarterback Marcus Stokes’ younger brother, Lucas, did just that. Lucas sat in row seven of section 139 at Allegiant Stadium and watched his older brother help the Tigers put on a show against the UNLV Rebels. Some might even call it an unofficial birthday present.

Stokes’ girlfriend and his father, Kevin, joined Lucas to watch the Tigers beat UNLV 27-21, despite being 4.5-point underdogs.

Stokes wasn’t officially announced as the starter until hours before the game. Kevin couldn’t have been more excited to watch his son debut as a Memphis Tiger when The Daily Memphian saw him in the crowd of other Memphis fans about 30 minutes before kickoff.
