Knowledge Bowl placed ‘on hiatus’ after nearly four decades

At the end of the most recent Knowledge Bowl season, WREG-TV host Stephanie Scurlock congratulated Collierville High School for winning the championship and signed off with “See you next year!”

Richard Ranta, the retired University of Memphis dean who serves as judge on the program, pointed out that next year would be the high school quiz show’s 39th.

“Go 39!” Scurlock said on May 2.

But that 39th season, which would typically start in October, is in serious doubt.
