DeSoto 55 erects first two buildings, lands first tenant

By Updated: October 16, 2018 6:10 AM CT

The first two buildings in the new DeSoto 55 Logistics Center have been completed and the first tenant has leased 200,000 square feet, developer Core5 Industrial Partners announced Monday.

DSV Solutions, a freight forwarder, is to start operations at the site in January.

DSV will use the 200,000 square feet for an existing client’s distribution facility serving the Southeast.

Freight forwarders organize shipments to move goods from the manufacturer to a customer or final distribution point.

Developed by Atlanta-based Core5 Industrial Partners, the 175-acre industrial park is in Horn Lake near Interstate 55.

The site has room for 2.5 million square feet of facilities when it is fully built out.

The first two buildings have been erected. Building A1 has 581,475 square feet and can be expanded to more than 1 million square feet. Building B, where DSV Solutions will operate, has 300,145 square feet.

A press release emphasized the availability of the area’s non-union workers and DeSoto County’s “pro-business environment."

“Located less than two minutes from I-55 via Church Road, the property provides outstanding access and proximity to a large and abundant non-union labor pool," Lisa Ward, senior vice president and managing director for Core5, said in the statement.

DSV Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of DSV A/S based in Denmark, a publicly traded provider of supply-chain services.

Dan Wilkinson, Allen Wilkinson and Brad Kornegay of Colliers International represented Core5 in the lease transaction and also represent Core5 on the entire development.
