Buckley: With the Redbirds in the playoffs, Stubby Clapp recalls good times in Memphis

He previously covered LSU sports in Baton Rouge, and the University of Louisiana football and basketball for The Daily Advertiser/USA TODAY Network in Lafayette, the NBA’s Utah Jazz for the Deseret News in Salt Lake City, the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning for the St. Petersburg Times in Florida, and West Texas State basketball for the Amarillo Globe News in Texas.
A Pacific Coast League championship as a player in 2000. Back-to-back PCL titles in 2017 and 2018, plus a Triple-A championship with a victory over the Durham Bulls in ’18.
Stubby Clapp, inducted last Wednesday night into the Memphis Sports Hall of Fame, won a lot during his six seasons with the Redbirds, Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
