A year of Memphis Safe Task Force: 13K+ arrests, decline and scrutiny

It has been a year since the Memphis Safe Task Force launched on the ground.
As of Sept. 16, the Task Force has made more than 13,000 arrests, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Still, there has been much debate over the federal intervention, specifically the National Guard deployment and the Task Force’s association with immigration enforcement.
Here’s a look back at the major moments that have shaped the Task Force, from its start to now.
