Why Tigers assistant Tony Madlock left his head coaching job to come home

Tony Madlock experienced some memorable highs during his five years as a head college basketball coach.
When he took over a South Carolina State program that went 1-17 during the 2020-21 season, Madlock improved the Bulldogs to 15-16 the next season. He spent the last four years at Alabama State, where he led the Hornets to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2011. They beat Saint Francis in a First Four matchup to earn a No. 16 seed against Auburn two years ago.
