What is the future of the Memphis Safe Task Force? Its local head tells us.
Sept. 29 marks the one-year anniversary of the Memphis Safe Task Force in action.
The Task Force, established by presidential memorandum Sept. 15, 2025, was officially deployed and began operations just two weeks later.
Now, one year since its launch, the Task Force has no end in sight, said U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee Tyreece Miller who heads the MSTF operation locally. More than 300 federal agents are in the city at a given time, and there is no set timeline for when the federal operation will wind down.
Miller recently sat down with The Daily Memphian to talk about MSTF and its future.
