The University of Memphis is in an interesting moment in athletics.
The football team has a 3-1 record so far for the season and will take on Charlotte this weekend. There’s also a new stadium, a new coach and even some momentum behind the team.
At the same time, the Tigers are just a month or so away from the start of basketball season, and there is some uncertainty. Season ticket sales are down 50% from last year, and the team is heading into its 9th season under head coach Penny Hardaway.
Today, The Daily Memphian’s University of Memphis athletics reporter Frank Bonner II joins us to talk about more conference realignment, new/old coaches, the basketball team’s predilection for 3-pointers and what it would take to get season ticket-holders back into seats.
