Jan. 13 is the projected opening date for a new Whitehaven coffee shop.

On Dec. 4, a building permit application was filed for the future Muggin’ Coffeehouse, to be located at 1139 Brownlee Road, near Elvis Presley Boulevard.

Crone Construction was listed as the general contractor to convert the former nail salon.

Husband and wife Ken and Mary Olds are opening Muggin’. The couple, who are both from Whitehaven, plan to serve gourmet coffee from local roasters along with locally made pastries, scones, muffins and cupcakes.
