A variety of new features and enhancements are coming soon to The Daily Memphian

As The Daily Memphian enters its second month as a publication, we wanted to thank you for reading us and for subscribing to our email editions and the site. We appreciate it immensely.

This is also a chance to highlight some of the features and changes that will be rolling out on the site over the next weeks and months, including:

  • Obituaries, which will range from short notices written by the family and friends of those who have passed, to staff-written articles not only about people well-known to all Memphians, but also about those who, given the contributions they’ve made to this city, should have been well-known to everyone.
  • Guest columns, in order to give voice to a range of opinions on issues of importance to the people of Memphis. In fact, email our executive editor now if you have ideas for guest columns or suggestions for guest columnists.
  • New weekly email editions focused on the week in Sports, recent Food & Dining articles, and much more.
  • The ability to customize your email preferences more narrowly. If you only want our Morning Edition and Sports news, for instance, you’ll be able to select that.
  • Enhancements to all our section pages, such as Business and Metro, in order to better highlight more of the stories, photos and videos we are doing in Memphis.
  • Podcasts, covering politics, sports, food and dining, business, and more.
  • More ways to comment on articles than just Facebook commenting.
  • An app, for both iPhone and Android phones.
  • National news, utilizing the Associated Press and their comprehensive coverage of everything from politics to sports to entertainment.

Thanks again for reading and sharing The Daily Memphian. The reception so far has been fantastic. And we’ve only just started.
