“Most of the citizens are looking for more outdoor opportunities,” said Bartlett Parks and Recreation Director Paul Wright.
There are some minor hiccups regarding the actual first day of the YMCA taking over the Bartlett Recreation Center, but the transition should be completed next month.
Early last month, the suburb’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved shifting the city’s recreation center to the YMCA. The facility at 7700 Flaherty Place has hemorrhaged money in recent years.
Shan Criswell is retiring as director of Bartlett’s Parks and Recreation Department. Paul Wright was named interim replacement.
