Boyle has dramatically changed plans for Viridian in Germantown’s Forest Hill Heights. The proposal for 25 acres now is without apartments.
Boyle’s proposal for 242 townhomes and row houses was denied by Germantown’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Monday.
The 25-acre Viridian project sits on 25 acres in the southwest quadrant of the suburb, and the residential options will be for rent.
Boyle Investment Company submitted a revised plan to Germantown for its Viridian project. The proposal replaces multifamily units with townhomes and row houses, still a concern for nearby residents.
After an 18-month apartment moratorium, Boyle Investment Co. revised its plan for Viridian and resubmitted the project to Germantown. The project is one of the first in the Forest Hill Heights area.
Viridian development was to include 266-unit complex.
Boyle’s planned apartments in Germantown seem to have hit a snag. It seems the vested rights may have expired on the site, according to a legal review.
Viridian could set the tone for development in Forest Hill Heights. The Planning Commission is asking Boyle Investment Co. to reconsider how its development would look from Winchester Road before making a formal recommendation.
