At 78, a Memphis sculptor sees his work headed to museums
Artist Luther Hampton stands among his sculptures in Tops Gallery. Four of 13 pieces in the Tops show will soon go to the collections at Memphis Brooks Museum of Art and the Baltimore Museum of Art. Works by Luther Hampton, who graduated from the Memphis Academy of Arts in 1973, will go to three museums, including Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, the Baltimore Museum of Art and Tennessee State Museum.
