Yo Gotti’s Birthday Bash 8 was filled with new and seasoned superstars.
The concert made a return on Friday, July 15, at the FedExForum, making it the first bash to be held since 2019.
Fans of the rapper gathered to watch performances by members of Gotti’s CMG label, along with many special guests.
With most of the stadium full, purple and blue lights flashed around the room and the North Memphis native opened the show himself.
Jumping across the piano-like stage, Gotti ran through a few songs from his most recent projects and from his classic album, “Back 2 Da Basics” (2006).

As expected, many of Gotti’s label artists hit the stage. Guest stars included Blac Youngsta, Mozzy, Blocboy JB, EST Gee, Moneybagg Yo, Lil Migo and more.
The first guest to join Gotti on stage was none other than Louisiana rapper Boosie BadAzz.
But instead of keeping it Southern, Gotti tapped artists hailing from the East Coast to the Midwest.
When the audience heard the ad-libs of Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty’s “Back in Blood,” they could tell that the next guest would be Chicago’s Lil Durk, who is featured on the track.
The moment felt bittersweet for fans like Adrian Herenton, who couldn’t help but wish that Shiesty, who is serving a 5-year jail sentence, could join him.
“It would have been an even bigger moment for Memphis,” Herenton said.
Herenton said that this was his first time attending the concert and was pleased with the show.
Traditionally, Gotti keeps the entertainment lineup concealed from fans until the artists hit the stage. But on Tuesday, Gotti announced via social media that rapper Lil Uzi Vert would be among those performing.
Not only did the Philadelphia rapper make the stage, but he brought out his girlfriend, JT, a member of the Miami hip-hop duo City Girls.

JT performed “Said Sum (remix),” a collaboration she shares with South Memphis’ Moneybagg Yo. The track peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart back in 2020.
Speaking of Billboard entries, Yo Gotti’s newest label artist, GloRilla, also made an appearance.
The rapper is mostly known for her hit single “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” which currently sits at No. 75 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Before the night ended, Gotti paid tribute to his longtime friend and engineer, Leo Goff III, who died early last month.
Gotti shared with the audience that he and Goff worked on numerous projects together, including the “Off Top of The Head” series.
Gotti presented Goff’s mother, who was present at the concert, with a key to the city.
At about midnight, Yo Gotti and all of the night’s performers gathered on stage for what would be Gotti’s last set.
Gotti’s Birthday Bash may have been a celebration for him, but it felt more like a celebration for Memphis rap.
