Elizabeth Cawein is the founder and director of Music Export Memphis, a nonprofit export office for Memphis music. She is an adjunct professor of Music Urbanism at Rhodes College, a programmer/DJ on WYXR 91.7 FM and a national speaker on issues of music, culture and urban development.
“The work we do doesn’t exist in response to the legacy of Elvis Presley. It exists in response to our contemporary scene — scenes, really — that are thriving, diverse and full of transcendent talent.”
