December exhibitions showcase Memphis via photography, painting

Amelia Briggsโ โdrupeโ at Sheet Cake Gallery, now on view:
Amelia Briggs is based in Brooklyn, New York, and works in fiber and painting to create wall hangings that are reminiscent of quilts, botanical and anatomical forms. โDrupeโ focuses on interiors. (The word itself means a fleshy fruit with a hard and hidden interior.) Briggs earned a master of Fine Arts from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Indiana University.
Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.ย
