ServiceMaster pest control unit offers business disinfection
Memphis-based pest control company Terminix Commercial is rolling out a new disinfecting service to deep clean businesses closed by coronavirus.
Disinfectix Site Disinfecting Service will be provided by crews trained in cleaning techniques that meet EPA guidelines for use against SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus.
Officials at Terminix Commercial, a unit of ServiceMaster, say Disinfectix is a hands-on approach that disinfects and kills germs on frequently touched hard surfaces such as equipment, counters, walls, door handles and food preparation tables.
It’s designed to help essential businesses maintain clean work areas as they stay open amid local, state and federal health protocols, and to help closed businesses prepare to reopen.
“With the impact of this new coronavirus on our customers and businesses around the world, it’s clear that this is a critical need we can help fill immediately,” Terminix Commercial president Greg Rutherford said.
“We want every business to come back from this pandemic stronger than before,” he said.
“Whether a business has endured a complete shutdown, they’re operating in a modified capacity, or they’ve been deemed an essential service, every business owner needs to be confident that their workplace will be ready for customers and employees,” Rutherford said.
Terminix Commercial’s senior director, technical and regulatory services, Dan Baldwin, said the company has years of experience providing sanitization and disinfection after pest clean-outs.
“There is a right way and a wrong way to do this. Precision is crucial when it comes to this kind of service, and it takes trained professionals to execute the correct way,” Baldwin said.
Terminix and Terminix Commercial, part of Memphis-based ServiceMaster Global Holdings Inc., serve about 2.8 million residential and commercial customers in 47 states and 18 countries.
