Elizabeth Dupont, executive director of Hope House since 1999, is retiring June 1. She has helped build an enterprise that has a nationally accredited day care and preschool, plus housing and social services. (Houston Cofield/Special to The Daily Memphian)

She added social services for adults, saying that there is no way to reduce generational poverty without engaging the adults and the children in the family.
