ABB will expand its plant in Senatobia, Mississippi, and create 50 new jobs, according to Gov. Phil Bryant.

Bryant tweeted Tuesday that the automation technology conglomerate will invest $36 million in the expansion.

ABB bought Memphis-based Thomas & Betts in 2012 for $3.9 billion.

Switzerland-based ABB opened its advanced manufacturing facility in Senatobia in October 2016 to produce electrical components for the U.S. market. The 85,000-square-foot facility makes technologically advanced circuit breakers and other products for data centers, manufacturing plants, food-processing facilities and wastewater facilities, to name a few.

When it opened, the plant was to employ 300 by its fifth year in operation.
