Memphis-based safety equipment company Radians Inc. is relocating to a larger facility in Hickory Hill to consolidate its manufacturing, warehouse and office space under one roof.
Founded in 1997, the company makes personal protective equipment for a workers in industries like construction, utilities, public safety and emergency services. Its products include safety goggles, face shields, vented hard hats, safety vests and flame-resistant coveralls.
Radians said it will not seek tax incentives to help fund its move into a 110,000-square-foot space at 6100 Global Drive, a half mile from its headquarters at 5305 Distriplex Farms Drive.
In late 2022, the company signed a lease on a nearby property at 5335 Mineral Wells Road for warehousing operations.
Radians said the move to a larger consolidated headquarters will support the business’ growth by combining its manufacturing and custom imprinting operations under one roof while providing additional office space.
“The expansion will be good for our team,” said Bill England, Radians president. “The air-conditioned facility and spacious work environment will enhance employee satisfaction, creating a more comfortable and energized work environment.”
England said the company will complete its consolidation by year end with minimal disruption to operations.
“Our Memphis expansion marks a significant milestone in our growth strategy and history,” Radians CEO Mike Tutor said. “By moving manufacturing and printing operations into one facility, the company will enhance operational efficiency, improve production capacity and support the increasing demand for American-made PPE.”
Radians employs more than 200 workers and has additional U.S. facilities in Thomasville, North Carolina and Bellingham, Washington, as well as in Mexico, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
In 2020, Radians bought the naming rights to the Live at the Garden concert venue in a 10-year agreement with the Memphis Botanic Garden that created the Radians Ampitheater.
