The City of Memphis is planning a $55 million renovation of AutoZone Park and potential redevelopment of the area around the stadium, according to public records reviewed by The Daily Memphian.
In June, the city signed a contract with the project-management firm Vieste, which is also involved in the city’s development at Liberty Park.
The exhibits to the contract indicate the city’s firmest commitment yet to securing the Memphis Redbirds' long-term future in Memphis and follow Redbirds’ management openly hinting at moving elsewhere if the park doesn’t see substantial work.
