A Shelby County judge ruled Friday, Aug. 15, that a popular local wing chain must pay Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant the hundreds of thousands of dollars it owes him.
Shelby County Chancellor Melanie Taylor Jefferson granted a request from Morant’s attorneys to automatically rule in their favor because representatives from The Wing Guru have yet to respond to their lawsuit.
No one from the restaurant was present in court for Friday’s hearing, however the bailiff did call out for the “wing guru” several times into the courthouse hallway.
