Opioid-overdose spray is now available over the counter. If you can find it.
Despite Narcan nasal spray’s over-the-counter status, it will continue to be available through some community programs, like those of Shelby County Health Department and Alliance Health Services, because the suggested retail cost of $44.99 cost could pose a barrier to some consumers paying out-of-pocket for the drug. The product was listed as out-of-stock at all Memphis-area CVS stores, from Midtown to Whitehaven and Germantown and all but one Walgreens at 8046 Macon Road in Cordova.
